It’s about more than weight

It’s about more than weight Disclaimer: This is in no way intended to be “medical advice.” It is simply sharing our own experiences. If you can relate to something you may be experiencing, by all means, talk to your doctor. As you can see below, some of my doctors advised me to do certain things I didn’t necessarily agree with or follow, but that was my own decision. Each person has to follow their own heart and mind. When 2018 rolled around, both my husband and I had reached a point that we knew we needed to do something about Read More ...

Golden Corral in Columbia

Golden Corral in Columbia I will admit I am not much on buffets. It’s not so much the food, but the atmosphere I don’t care for everyone touching the serving utensils, lingering over the food with whatever germs, and they’re usually not the cleanest places because of the high traffic. But sometimes when the set-menu restaurants around us are just not an option (most Italian or Chinese restaurants), we will go to a Golden Corral, and actually do quite well, food-wise. Breakfast foods are pretty standard, and a lot of it is Keto OK. Bacon, sausage,  ham, cheese, eggs, maybe Read More ...

Colton’s Steak House & Grill in Jefferson City

Colton’s Steak House & Grill in Jefferson City A steak house is one of the most Keto friendly eateries you can choose. At Colton’s, you can order things customized and I have found them to be very accommodating. It goes without saying that you would not want the breaded appetizers, like the “Onion Tanglers” (90g of carbs!!!) and such, but there are plenty of great items so you shouldn’t feel deprived.  Colton’s has an AWESOME “Nutrition Calculator” where you can put in your menu item with your custom options to get your carb count! I had fun playing with that. Read More ...

Deviled Eggs

Deviled Eggs INGREDIENTS Large eggs Hellman’s Olive Oil mayo Yellow mustard Apple cider vinegar Better Stevia liquid sweetener (optional, we do like ours a bit sweet) Salt & Pepper to taste Paprika (optional) for garnish INSTRUCTIONS Hard-boil (or steam) eggs and chill before cutting and preparing. We have a 6-egg Dash steamer that we use to keep boiled eggs on hand, and we like it as the eggs peel really easily. Slice peeled eggs lengthwise, put yolks into a shallow bowl that will be easy to stir around while mashing with a fork. After mashed, add your mayo and mustard Read More ...
